新鮮牡丹蝦吃起來肉質緊緻又富有彈力, 口感與冷凍過的牡丹蝦有天壤之別, 味道更為濃厚. 
蝦頭用來製成味噌湯, 湯汁濃郁鮮美; 亦可酥炸蝦頭來吃!

加拿大產 v.s 北海道產
市面上冷凍的牡丹蝦多數是加拿大產, 品種與北海道/俄羅斯海域產的不一樣. 
北海道產的牡丹蝦肉質較爽, 蝦膏味道甘香濃郁, 且產量少, 因此價格較高; 
而加拿大產的肉質較腍, 蝦味較淡, 且產量大, 因此較便宜.
